Addiction Awareness
Education Series
This education series
is set up to both inform students and teachers while at the same dispel myths
and misinformation about alcohol and other drugs. This series
is geared toward helping students understand the many aspects of addiction by
explaining the areas of life that addiction often affects. Also discussed and explained will be topics such as emotional growth and mindful consumption.
This series takes the topics that have been discussed on a micro level in regards to personal
choices with alcohol and drug use and explicates the idea of the cycle of
addiction within the nation and even the world, by discussing ideas of
addiction to many other aspects of particularly our western culture. We will also
be looking at the psychological consequences of addictive compulsive behavior.
We will discuss internet use, efficiency, food, sexual behavior, shopping,
video games etc. , all as ways people
can act out addictively. In closing we will discuss alternatives to addictive
behavior by talking about mindful consumption and life choices.
